The Hills of the Elegant Edinburgh

The richness of history and culture is rooted in Edinburgh Tour, the capital city of Scotland, located in Lothian. The picturesque locales and the glorious architecture make Edinburgh the second post visited places in the United Kingdom.

Batad, Ifugao: Ramon's Homestay - Accommodation Review

There aren't much pension houses, guest houses, homestays, and inns in Batad, Banaue, Ifugao and choosing a place to stay will only give you few options. Batad is a small village comprised only by few thousands of locals, and it is roughly an hour away from Banaue. The main roads going here are decently paved, however, the views are kinda scary since the terrains are mountainous.

Some of the places to stay that you may find in Batad are the following: Hillside Inn, Samson's Guesthouse, Rita's Guesthouse, Christina's Guesthouse, Foreigner's Inn, Batad Pension, Grace's Homestay, and Ramon's Homestay.

So why did I choose Ramon over the others? Simply because it is popular among backpackers visiting Batad, and Ramon's has the traditional Ifugao Huts that you can book.

Baguio, Sagada, Banaue: Transportation Options - Part 1

Visiting the provinces of the Cordillera Region may be a challenge as only few commuter bus lines offer regular trips going here. Well, with the exception of Baguio City which has long been dubbed as the Summer Capital of the Philippines, traveling to other less known destinations such as Mt. Province and Ifugao must be carefully plotted out.

Cordillera Region offers mountainous terrains and zigzag roads, and crossing province after province will give you a scary feeling because of the steep road slopes, however, the reward of picturesque views will definitely satisfy your eyes.

Thinking Thoughts: Make Traveling a Lifestyle With A Purpose

It's really nice seeing more and more foreigners visiting The Philippines and experiencing what our country offers - from culture, to food, to natural resources, and of course to people. We are not the most visited country in Southeast Asian Region, Thailand I believe, but we are slowly getting there and climbing up the pedestal - establishing the beauty of our country.

There were actually times where I felt alienated in my own country because some travel destinations are flocked mostly by foreigners and not locals. It's surprising how they have managed to research and pushed through with their travels in some of the less known and remote tourist spots in our country.

How come foreigners do and we Filipinos cannot?

Batad, Banaue, Ifugao: Every Traveler's Bucketlist - Part 3

To complete my list of reasons why I love Batad, I have here my last four reasons to establish my thoughts. From Manila, travel time going to Ifugao Province may be a pain as it takes roughly 10 to 11 hours of bus ride from Sampaloc Terminal through the Ohayami Bus Line.

There are only few trips per night bound for Banaue, Ifugao so be sure to have booked your tickets prior to your scheduled trip to avoid any inconvenience. Ohayami Bus leaves Sampaloc, Manila at around 9 - 10 PM and will arrive Banaue at around 7 - 8 AM. Tourists flock Banaue during sunny seasons, January to May, as the rice terraces are dry and luscious greens.
