Puerto Princesa, Palawan: Things to Know about the Underground River

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River, or more popularly known as the Underground River, has slowly gained its popularity in the last three years. Because of it's recent recognition as part of the New 7 Wonders of Nature last 2011, tourists arrival is starting to grow gradually.

Since the Puerto Princesa Underground River was declared as a UNESCO Heritage Site, to protect, maintain, and preserve the integrity of the place, limited number of tourists per day can be accommodated. According to our tour guide, a maximum of 900 to 1,000 visitors are allowed to visit the heritage site.

    1. Hi Apple! Looks like you have a very tight flight schedule.. Well from Puerto Princesa City, it takes around 1.5 hrs going to the Underground River, through Sabang port. I guess arriving at 11am and pursuing the underground river may still be possible, given that you will stay your first night in Puerto Princesa.. Though it is still subject upon slot availability per local tourism's advice.

      Keep traveling! ^^,

    1. Hi Marilou! Well, it is possible to arrange your Underground River Tour on the day itself. The only thing to consider however is the number of tourist visiting the place since I believe, they have a limit as to the max number of visitors per day.

If you got time to plan and reserve as soon as you can, the better.

      Keep traveling! ^^,
