2014: Another year, counting my travels

Thinking Thoughts_V13.06

It's been a while. I know.

And I've been encountering this thought in my mind over and over again. Well, basically I'm busy, yes believe it or not I was highly occupied with several things lately. One thing, I need to settle my current responsibilities and functions, and another thing, I need to think of my priorities and plans ahead. Sounds simple? Nah! As much as I would like not to think of my problems today, they're still gonna be there, and as much as I want my future to be as simple as it is, it may not be.

I Travel. I Count.

Anyway, now's November and where have I set foot since my Palawan trip? Well finally, yes finally, I had the chance visiting Hong Kong and Shenzhen, China for the first time and it was such an unforgettable experience. I've been waiting for this trip since this year started and Thank God it happened (well my company actually made it happened :)). Stay tuned for my Hong Kong and China travel posts in the weeks to come.

2013 was never good for me in terms of work and career, and it had taken a lot of toll against me, however on the lighter side, travels were all been good to me! As what they say, when a door closes, a window opens, and in my case, a lot of scenic and memorable windows opened, worthy to be shared to others the experiences and misfortunes I learned.

I've been to 6 countries this year, 6 beautiful countries in a year!!! I don't mean to boast it but I just felt blessed to have been given this opportunity learning other cultures and traditions, and understanding the differences. February this year, I went to the historic cities of Bangkok and Ayutthaya, Thailand, and Siem Reap, Cambodia. Two months after that, April, I sat foot again in the Lion City, Singapore, and had a side trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. And just this month, I've learned more about the Chinese culture by visiting Hong Kong and China.

As for the local Philippine travels, my first visit to Puerto Princesa, Palawan, and my nth-time visit to Boracay Island, Aklan were now included in my travel book. One of the irreplaceable experience I had was when I visited the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River which has been declared as one of the new 7 Wonders Of Nature. For having experienced it personally, now I can confidently share to other foreign tourist friends about the magnificent beauty of this place.

So, where will I be this 2014? Honestly, as I am writing this blog post, I only have 1 travel plan next year; visiting Cagayan de Oro, Bukidnon, and Camiguin for the first time. And that's the only travel I am looking forward to. Anyhow, I still believe that other travels will surely come along the way.

How about you? Where have you been this 2013 and where will you be this 2014? :) I would be happy to know more about your travel plans and exchange some thoughts and experiences.
