Majayjay, Laguna: Dalitiwan Mountain Resort

TRAVEL DATES: April 18 - 19, 2014

When one talks about Laguna, it is instantly being associated with the famous Enchanted Kingdom theme park, Splash Island Resort, Mt. Banahaw, and Mt. Makiling. However, Laguna Province, which is only an hour or two away from Metro Manila, offers more than the eye can see!

The Municipality of Majayjay, around 2 - 3 hour ride from Manila, can be reached through different provincial buses with routes going to Laguna.

TRAVEL TIP: Particularly Greenstar Lines located along the stretch of Taft Avenue and near Buendia, has a route going to Sta. Cruz. Alighting Sta. Cruz, you may transfer to a jeepney ride and a tricycle ride going to Majayjay. Bus fare is around PHP 140 and jeepney fare is around PHP 75.

Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon: Dahilayan Adventure Park - Day Tour

I guess most of us have already tried riding ziplines or perhaps dreamt of riding one someday. I'm not quite sure how it specifically became popular in the Philippines during the recent years because it seemed that every nature park and adventure park now offers zipline courses.

Welcome to Bukidnon
Welcome To Bukidnon!

In the Province of Bukidnon, they boast here the country's longest dual zipline course. It's kinda fun having a friend beside you sharing your anguish and fear while counting the remaining time left before arriving at the zipline's finish line. Well for me, yes it may seem an interesting idea, but it's not that adventurous at all. The feeling riding the zipline alone is still the best satisfaction one can get. Scary, yes, but definitely is worth a lifetime!

Cagayan De Oro - Bukidnon - Camiguin: 4D/3N Travel Itinerary

TRAVEL DATES: February 23 - 26, 2014

Traversing Northern Mindanao Region has been one of the most popular travel itineraries nowadays particularly because of the White Water Rafting that Cagayan De Oro City offers. Philippines is an archipelago comprised of 7,000 islands and traveling from one province to the other is not that easy...well that was the case before.

Good thing in the past years, several local air carriers have offered cheaper plane flights, at times they have a "Piso Fare" (One Peso Fare), which attracts more Filipinos to travel more and enjoy and appreciate more the local tourist spots. Also, most of us Filipinos like extreme adventures and this contributes to the rise in tourist arrivals on the cluster provinces of Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, and Camiguin.

Cagayan De Oro, Misamis Oriental: The Adventure Of A Lifetime

Are you the type of traveler who's in dire of extreme activities? The kind of wanderer that has no limitations, no fears, and no hesitations? Then Cagayan De Oro City and its neighboring provinces will definitely satisfy your adrenaline demands with the variety of intense adventures it offers!

The City of Cagayan De Oro or CDO is the capital of the Province of Misamis Oriental. It is known to all as the "City Of Golden Friendship" and it is clearly reflected by the warmth and friendly welcome of its people. I don't know exactly why I felt light and relaxed in Cagayan De Oro, probably because of the rural feel that the luscious trees on the roadside bring.

Mambajao, Camiguin: A Trip I'll Surely Come Again

When one says Camiguin, I'd say Come Again!

Pretty well justified visiting the Island Province of Camiguin over and over again as it never seizes to amaze travelers like me the laid-back province-feel life fused with the soothing sea breeze surrounding the island's shoreline.

Camiguin Island

Way too different compared to the traffic jam of Metro Manila, the honking buses along EDSA Highway, and the piles of garbage in every corner of the streets. In Camiguin, the daily life seems to slow down and the people always bring a smile on their faces. A very light and welcoming feeling!

Candelaria, Zambales: 2D-1N Potipot Island Itinerary

TRAVEL DATES: March 1-2, 2014

Summer is in the air and a lot of us are again planning our own travel getaways to escape the extreme heat and enjoy basking under the sun. Situated some 4 to 5 hours or so, north of Metro Manila, the Province of Zambales has a lot more to offer for beach bummers wanting to relax and see the world on a calming perspective.

When in Potipot Island

Potipot Island is one of the beach getaway place popular to many and its proximity to Manila makes it more convenient to travel by land.

Candelaria, Zambales: A Personal Note For Potipot Island

It's "summer" time again in the Philippines and the weather starts to register its peak temperature. Humidity rises up and what a way to start the day but with an ice cold water. Refreshing! Manila has been too much of a city now - congested, jam-packed, and highly inconvenient. I believe we all wanted to get out of the metro and the most common question is "Where to?".

Potipot Island, Zambales
Potipot Island

Where to in the sense that it should be accessible from Manila, cheap and short-distance land travel, and worth one's precious time. There actually are a lot of good places to chill-out situated just on the outskirts of the metro and will require 3 - 4 hours travel time. The provinces of Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, Bataan, and Zambales are the places I consider visiting to where traveling can be easily done over-the-weekend.

Thinking Thoughts: Challenging A Fearful Traveler's Mind

Some people consider traveling as an extravagance and pleasure in life – enjoying a comfortable lifestyle miles away from the bustling city life and stressful biome. I’d say, traveling is an opportunity to know more about myself, learn new things that lie ahead, and rediscovering personal thoughts, fears, preferences and perceptions.

CDO White Water Rafting

Living in a middle-class economic status, I take every travel destination as an opportunity as opposed to luxury as money is always of the essence. I admit, saving regular travel funds is a constant challenge payday after payday. It wasn’t easy setting aside at least 10% of my net payday salary for travel purposes. I assume many travelers and would-be go-getters share the same sentiments as me. Well good thing nowadays that a number of flight carriers, notably Cebu Pacific Air, offer relatively cheaper rates for both domestic and international routes!

Hong Kong: Victoria Peak - City View At Its Finest

"Perhaps next time, I'll bring a thicker jacket...", the words my mind uttered when I visited the Victoria Peak in Hong Kong. Coming from a tropical country where the lowest average temperature ranges from 18 to 20 degrees Celsius, the chilling winds at The Peak surely went into my nerves!

Victoria Peak Hong Kong

Victoria Peak is one of the most popular tourist destination in Hong Kong and that was definitely reflected by the flock of tourists visiting the place regardless of the time of the day. Well I guess the thought in most visitors' mind when visiting The Peak is that the more the night gets deeper, the better the view of the city skyline.

Hong Kong: Avenue Of Stars - Getting Closer With The Stars

Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Chow Yun-Fat!

Name as many Hong Kong actors as you can and you may just be more envious with me as it was a great feeling being closer with these stars for a minute of my life - Or should I fittingly say, closer with their "stars" featured at the Avenue Of Stars in Hong Kong.

Avenue of The Stars in Hong Kong
Avenue Of The Stars

It was an overwhelming feeling of mixed excitement and curiousness when I visited the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui area or popularly known for its acronym "TST". I may not have met in person my favorite HK stars, but at least I got hold of their commemorative stars and took some souvenir photos that will definitely be a good and lasting remembrance!

Hong Kong: Food Walk In Mongkok

Never missing out the country's local dishes and cuisines is always on my to-do list as I believe that I can learn more about the local culture and tradition through what it can offer on the table, literally, and gastronomic satisfaction is actually what I always desire when traveling :)

Mongkok Food Trip in Hong Kong
Food Trip at its best!

Hong Kong, a melting pot of Chinese heritage, I must say is full of both delicious foods and weird-looking but mouth-tasting delicacies. Mongkok, a popular place for food tripping, was the top suggestion I gathered among my Cantonese-speaking friends. A variety of selections from stinky tofu, fried squid, soup made up of internal organs, authentic milk tea, etc., are just teasers of what to expect and taste.

Hong Kong: The Wisdom Path - Lantau Island

I really never imagined Hong Kong to be a place that fuses society and nature. A few train stations away from the center of the city, you can already find some nature parks and mountainside views. The most fitting picturesque scene that can translate this is the Lantau Island.

Ngong Ping Lantau Island
Ngong Ping Lantau Island

Lantau Island is where the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) is located. It's roughly an hour bus ride going to the city center and around 45 minutes by train. The thing I love about Hong Kong is its convenient transportation where you can easily escape the city's ecstatic life in just train rides away.

Hong Kong: 10,000 Golden Buddhas of Sha Tin

Sha Tin is not as popular of a tourist destination as compared to The Peak, TST, Ocean Park, and Disneyland. I guess one of the reasons is because of its location as Sha Tin is located in New Territories Area of Hong Kong and 2 stations away from Kowloon Tong MTR Interchange.

Sha Tin Thousand Golden Buddha Hong Kong

The 10,000 Golden Buddhas Monastery was only suggested by one of my accompanying friends during the trip, and it has been more than 4 years since she visited the place. She still seem to remember going there so might as well check out the place and see what it now has to offer.
